About Aubri Black

Aubri Black is an author, writer, and poet. She wrote her first story, about a stolen birthday cake, when she was nine. She hasn’t stopped writing since. She graduated from Royal Roads University with a Bachelor of Arts in Professional Communication and has worked in marketing ever since.

Aubri’s perfect world is one where women’s stories are heard. A world that sees and treats everyone as equals. A world where women support and encourage each other. A world where people know how unique and awesome they are.

Aubri is passionate about raising awareness about domestic abuse, talking about mental health, learning to heal from trauma, and pursuing personal growth. She lives in Canada’s rainy west coast with her husband and kids.

My voice has been squashed many times. I’ve even become skilled at silencing my own voice for the sake of something else. I’m tired of shutting myself up because of what other people might think or what they might say.

After years of being told I am not good enough, I still struggle with showing people who I really am. But I’m ready to be me, and not be defined by my mistakes or my past. I like to write about life, abuse, faith, relationships, and mental health.

For me, this is a journey to becoming more me, whatever that looks like and sharing my story. I’m messy, flawed, complicated, but growing, learning, writing. What you see today might not be what is here tomorrow, but I would love for you to join me on the journey.
